SignLanguage Bob Tau update... well a small update.

So another month has almost passed us by without us showing our updates. Unfortunately real life events has stopped us from doing any major updates on the blog (such as fixing leaks in the shower, leaks on the roofs, leaks everywhere basically and that's just at my end).

So enough of the depressing stuff. You readers will want to know what we have been up to.

Well at the moment I have been reading the new Tau Empire Supplement: Farsight Enclaves. All I can say is.... wow. The back story is just fantastic. I read the whole book in one sitting. Although I do think the price for the book could of done with been a cheaper for what you get. I cant say I regret getting it. I will do a mini review about the book in another post.

In the mean time I have been working on some of my Fire Warriors...

I wanted my Tau to look different from everyone else's Tau that you seen on the table top. So with that in mind I wanted them to look a little less high tech and more as if they had been fighting in a long campaign. This would mean certain bits of wargear and tech would have to be customised to look different due to the demands of resources in war. As they will be an Urban force, I wanted the rifles to look shorter (without loosing the pulse rifle range to that of the pulse carbine) and a little low tech. So I cut the scope and grenade launcher off the pulse carbine. Lucky for me this has given me the look I was after. As I had a few faulty batches of fire warriors I decided to replace the back packs with space marine ammo pouches which I feel further enforces the adaptions to war (been rough and ready). Although I am not intending to get a Farsight army, I will be buying the Farsight Enclaves shoulder guards. The main reason is because I have lots of second hand fire warriors with missing parts and ebay tends to over charge on just single shoulder guards as it is. Plus they are very rare so when one does appear it tends to get a lot of interest.

Will on the topic of Fire Warriors, I would like to say to games workshop if they ever read this post is that could you please fix this plastic kits. The leg armour plates are now so warped that you cant even fix it unless you have the skills to fix it. This has come from not only the box I brought from games workshop but also from the second hand models as well. So I am guessing it have been faulty for some time. (I wont even dare to write about how bad the Crisis suit sprues are).

Any back to the post, I decided to paint my Tau armour in the following colour scheme....

As all you Anime and Manga fans will know, this is based on the Gundam RX-78-2, but with a twist. The colour scheme is actually for the "Curry Gundam" event in japan. However I love the colour scheme so much I cant help but borrow it for my Tau. Although I'm sure I will be thinking about curry non stop once I get around to painting it all.

Next Month I will look at buying a Cadre Fireblade Commander (I love the model) but putting on a Fire Warrior Helmet instead of its bare head.

Rusty has been working on another dreadnought and more marines. While Nathanel has been working on his guard and has come up with some great ideads for his Guard Vets.

Until next time.....

Warhammer 40K Humour

More often or not when I am on the internet, I tend to come across some Warhammer 40k humour. Most of the time it either awful or makes me cringe.

However when I stumbled across this, I could help but laugh.

Hope you all enjoy....

Long Time No Blog

Hi all, SignLanguageBob here

Well its been over a month since our last post. Sadly real life has gotten in the way of most of our hobby world.

However I do have a small update.

Unless you been living in a cave, the new codex Tau add-on, "Farsight" is coming out soon. I for one am looking forward to this codex. It means I can build my own custom Tau army.

With this in mind, I will be looking to convert my Fire Warriors. I want to have them looking different normal fire warriors. So I will slightly convert the pulse rifles to make them look less high tech, as well as the removal of the helmets and back packs. I see the Farsight Enclaves as been an army of "make do and repair" rather then having loads of new Tech. So equipment will be more scarce and as standard issues compared to the normal tau empire.

I will try and do a review once the codex comes out. I honestly cant wait.

I will leave you all some pictures of my Crisis Suit that I am working on.... (need some heavy cleaning up though, e.g: mould lines).

Recent Additions!

Hi guys,

Just thought I'd add some pics of a couple of recent additions to my Knights of the Emperor Space Marine Army.

This is my sqaud of Vanguard Veterans, close combat specialists led by a Thunder Hammer weilding marine that I picked up at Gamesday a couple of years ago. I went for Corvus helmets and Aquilla torsos for the other 4 with 4 power weapons, 2 storm sheilds and 2 plasma pistols. I decided not to give them jump packs and instead will mount them in a Razorback.
Next is my 'Storm Claw' special character who will play using the profile of Kayvaan Shrike from the Space Marine codex, and I gave him a pair of ForgeWorld Power Claws and a Blood Angels Jump pack. With Shrikes 'see but remain unseen' special rule I can attach him to my assault squad and they all get the infiltrate special rule!

I hope to get a full Army list with pics up soon, in the meantime feel free to let me know what you think, cheers Rusty84.

Games Workshop Specialist Games, Rumoured to be no more.

Hi all, SignLanguageBob here.

Sadly over the last few days, a lot of people have been talking about the fact that Games Workshop will no longer be supporting its Specialist Games range. Last weekend it was even  highlighted that most of the models in these specialist games are listed as "No Longer Available".

In some ways this has really saddened me! Games like Necromunda are really fun to play and while the models are nearly 20 years old they were in my opinion, some of the best models ever released by Games Workshop.

However, as a company that needs to make profit, I can understand why they have decided to no longer support these games if they making a loss. I do think though, that they could of at least given an announcement that they are ending the support to these games and slowly pahsed them out.

I would like to think that we havent seen the last of games like Warmaster, Necromunda and Epic, and can only hope that they will have  special limited edition  releases like that of "Space Hulk" back in 2009.

I do hope they will keep the rules around for these fantastic games.

Until Next Time......

Knights of the Emperor Space Marine Chapter

Today we take a look at Rusty84's Space Marine chapter.

Knights of the Emperor

Warcry - 'For the Emperor'
Founding - Unknown
Successors of - Unknown
Homeworld - Fleet Based, recruit mainly from Holy Terra.
Armour Colour Scheme - Yellow, Red and White.

Background:The Knights of the Emperor are a chapter of Adeptus Astartes loyal to the Imperium of Man. The origins of the chapter are shrouded in secrecy but they seem to hark back to the end of the great heresy. Indeed, their armour is Yellow, Red and White in commemoration of the three loyal legions that stood in defence of the Imperial Palace at the end of the Horus Heresy (Imperial Fists, Blood Angels and White Scars). Mysterious rumours persist that it was members of these three legions that provided the original influx of recruits at the chapters creation. The Chapter Emblem is a bolt of Lightning, one of the Emperors personal symbols and one used during the Unification of Terra.

As a Chapter, the Knights of the Emperor adhere to the codex astartes and are known to work closely with the Inquisition, especially the Ordo's Malleus and Xenos. They are known to contribute a large number of Marines to the elite DeathWatch and are honoured to have a Kill team attached to the chapter. It is also common for an agent of the Inquisition to take to the field of battle in support of the chapters forces.

The chapter is a fleet based force mainly crusading against the armies of the dark powers around the eye of terror but a significant proportion of the chapters' strength is always left in the sol system in defence of Holy Terra. At its founding oaths were taken in the presence of the immortal Emperor on his golden throne to protect humanity and its birth world and to never cease in the hunt for the turncoat heretics that sided with Horus and turned from the Emperors light.

Rusty is currently working on more of his"Knights of the Emperor" Space Marine Chapter and is currently finishing off a vanguard veteran squad and a 'Shrike' conversion. following those he has a Razorback for his Vanguard vets and a Chimera to carry his Inquisitor and retinue.
We will add more pics as soon as these new models are finished along with a complete army list.

Until next time all.....

Trial, error, trial, error, eventually success.

For those of you following our blog (and thank you to those who are), you may have noticed that we have been messing about with the settings, colour schemes and posts on and off for the past 2 weeks. The reason for this is because we are new to the blogger's world and are still finding our feet and working out how we want this blog to look.

We are hoping to get the layout and look of the blog finalised soon and thank you for your patience. If you have any tips or ideas please let us know.

Until the next post...
